This question is worth asking because people will know what makes plants grow more fertilizer or with out fertilizer. most people would think fertilizer but on rye grass that is not true.

General Plan

I am going to get 10 cups and going to put soil both and fertilizer just in 5 of them. I am going to water them every other day and measure them each day in centimeters.

Being over watered- I made shore that i didn't put to much water. Plants died - I watered them every day and took care of them

Background Research

Fertilizer has been used a lot now a days for making plants grow faster. You can use fertilizer for any kinda of plant even plants that you will eat like tomato's or carrots.
Fertilizer
Modern fertilizer is made out of mainly of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium compounds with secondary nutrients added.The use of fertilizers has highly improved the quality and quantity of the food available today. They are designed to improve the growing of soil, and fertilizers can make a better growing environment than natural soil.

History
The process of adding substances to soil to improve its growing capacity was developed in the early days of agriculture. Over time, fertilizer technology became better. New substances that improved the growth of plants were discovered. The Egyptians are known to have added ashes from burned weeds to soil. Ancient Greek and Roman writings show that various animals excrementswere used, depending on the type of soil or plant grown.

In these 2 paragraphs i talked about the history of fertilizer like how it was made and what they used before the fertilizer. It also talked about what early people used to make there plants grow instead of fertilizer. it also talks about what is in fertilizer and what it does and how it works.

2) Put any kind of soil in the pots
3)put any 3 seeds in the pots
4)water every other day
5)fertilize 1
6)measure each day with a ruler in CM and write it on a table.

Data Analysis

The graph above shows that the plants that did not have fertilizer actually grew more than the plants with fertilizer.

Conclusion

I predict that fertilizer will make a plant grow 2x the size of a regular plant. According to my data i have to reject my hypothesis

Discussion

My project could help a lot of people in science and the community because it tells whether or not plants will grow more or less when the plants have fertilizer in them, so people can now if having fertilizer in there plant will help the growth and make it quicker or it will slow the proses.

Abstract

In my experiment I got 10 cups with soil,fertilizer,and rye grass. I had 5 cups with fertilizer and 5 with out. I watered them every other day and only fertilized it once. Then I measured the rye grass each day with a ruler and using centimeters. The rye grass that did not have the fertilizer actually grew more than the ones with the fertilizer. The fertilizer I used was Osmocote smart-release plant food Vegetable&Bedding.
